Ferme de la Tremblaye

Ferme de la Tremblaye

Located southwest of Paris, Ferme de la Tremblaye is a farmhouse cheese producer using the milk from their own herds of goats and cows. Certified B Corp in 2020, the farm has a strong focus on the protection and maintenance of the environment and the welfare of their animals.

Specialising in two styles of cheese – soft ripened white mould such as brie and camembert, and natural rinded blue cheeses. All the cheeses are labelled under the ‘Fromage Fermier’ label which attests that the milk used is exclusively from the farm and that the entire process of production and ripening is conducted onsite – a rarity in France.

The cow herd is made up of two breeds – the Jersey cow for its extra rich milk and Prim Holstein – the classic dairy cow. The goats are a combination of Alpines Chamoissees & Murciana-Granadina – a Spanish goat breed known for its rich milk production. Animals are outside as much as possible, and enjoy an exclusive GMO diet even when undercover.

The farm is run on the agroecology model of sustainable farming that works with nature. Agroecology focuses on the balance of the ecosystems at the centre of agriculture that is both productive and respecting nature.
