The Grubb family have a long history in the south east of Ireland, running mills in Tipperary and Waterford. In 1938, Samuel Grubb, bought Beechmount Farm and began to farm the land.
His son Louis would carry on the tradition with his wife Jane, expanding into dairy with the purchase of 90 cows. Jane began to make cheese in 1980, producing award winning cheeses such as Cashel Blue and Crozier Blue.
Today, Louis and Jane’s daughter Sarah and her husband Sergio Furno work alongside head cheesemaker Geurt Van den Dikkenberg and continue to produce Cashel’s award winning cheeses in the pristine countryside of the Emerald Isle.
