Fromagerie P.Jacquin & Fils

For over 60 years this family run dairy has been making traditional goat’s milk cheeses in the styles this region south of Tours is famous for; in particular Valencay and St Maure de Touraine. The local milk produces fine cheese that are ivory white in colour and local famers protect the quality and consistency of this milk by keeping their goats overnight in cosy barns to prevent them from foraging on any foods that may affect the taste and ‘terroir’ of the milk and cheese that is made from it.
The village of Sainte Maure lies south of Poitiers, in a region famous for goat’s milk cheese. The small log-shaped cheese has been made in this regions for around a thousand years.
