St Vernier is made in the factory of Jean Perrin & Fils in the Jura region of the Franche Comté in the east of France. Jean Perrin & Fils are the manufacturers of other regional cheeses such as l’Édel de Cléron, Raclette and Morbier.
Its orange rind has been washed with the locally produced Savagnin wine which adds a slightly fruity flavour. Its thick gooey texture and rich creamy flavour, balances out a pungent aroma, some- what similar to classic Normandy cheeses.
